Brand: Louis Pion

Mechanism: Quartz Pile
A quartz watch is a watch that operates by vibrating under the action of an electrical voltage. This type of watch therefore requires the use of quartz crystals. Submitted to an electrical voltage (battery), it is the oscillation of the quartz crystal lamella that transmits its vibration frequency to the watch’s circuit, which then tells the time. The quartz mechanism is extremely precise and requires virtually no maintenance apart from battery replacement (approximately every 2 years).
Function: Date, Three hands
The time is indicated by three hands based in the center of the dial: the hour hand (small hand), the minute hand (large hand) and the seconds hand (second hand).
The watch features a date display via a window integrated into the main dial. Most of the time, the date change process is mechanical, with the digits from 1 to 31 rotating continuously.
Water resistance: 50 metres / 5 bar / 5 ATM
If the back of your watch indicates that it is water-resistant to 50 meters or 5 ATM, it can be worn for occasional swimming or bathing. Diving is not recommended, nor is scuba diving. Remember to rinse it gently (without direct water jets) with fresh water and dry it thoroughly after any use at sea.
Watchband fastening system: Standard system
The attachment system for the watch pump is simple: a spring is located in the cylindrical tube of the accessory, right up to the ends. It can be used to apply pressure to the case lining or to the clasp used to secure the bracelet. This system allows the two parts of a watchband to be attached to the case using metal “pump” bars. There are several types: single or double groove on the ends, telescopic, single or double shoulder, etc.
Glass material : Mineral glass
Mineral glass, made from real glass, is highly resistant. This is the glass most commonly used in watchmaking, particularly on entry-level models. Some brands offer more or less complex hardened versions on fine timepieces, such as Seiko, which has developed its own type of mineral glass called “Hardlex”.
